So here I was yesterday morning thinking that there was a new finding Nemo coming out. Perplexed at why everyone was posting pictures of Nemo swimming through snow, or floating rather, I finally realized that the Blizzard was called Nemo. Thank You LIM for keeping me preoccupied with homework, unable to watch the news, and thinking that Finding Nemo 4 was coming out.
I have got to admit that ever since Sandy, I have wisely started to believe the whether claims. So yesterday I stocked my freezer of necessities: Grey goose and Starbucks. As you never know when Starbucks might be closed, along with the liquor store.
Anyway as Fashion Week kicked off thursday followed by Nemo friday, it has been quite an adventure to say the least. Fashionistas showed there true affection by attending in their best attire, despite an unfortunate glimpse of hunter boots in the front row. Thankfully it wasn't Anna.
So far my favorite show has been Nicole Miller, from music to runway. Her collection collaborated colors, patterns, and materials. Having a dark expressive color palette. Leather and pattern is apparently the new leather and lace. A similar look was seen on the Rebecca Minkoff runway.
This Fall, designers new focus is leather. From leggings to detail, it has been seen in every silhouette. Designers are getting back to basics with newer, fashion focused fabrics, to use on 60's mod classics, and 90's grunge.
Theres also a lot of new updates in fabric by pairing unusual combinations (as seen in Millers show). Coating with rubberized lace, metallic finishes on leather, and combinations of delicates with heavy weights.
Let the fashions begin!
